Sourdough biscuits

Sourdough biscuits

I decided to wing this and make it and they came out amazing! I mixed a couple different recipes I saw!

Ingredients:

  • 21/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup butter, cubed or grated
  • 1 cup sourdough starter (can be active sourdough starter or discard)
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions:

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit, Mix flour, sugar, salt and baking powder in a bowl together
  • Cube or grate (I've grated with a zester before as well as my electric grater and both worked) your butter. Add it to the dry ingredients until mixed.
  • Add sourdough, egg and milk and mix til shaggy dough forms
  • Lightly flour a surface and knead with your hands til dough comes together
  • Roll out the dough til about 1/4-1/2 inch. Use a circle cutter (I used a smaller mason jar ring) and cut biscuits til there is no more to be cut.
Roll dough together and continue until all or most of the dough is used.
  • Place biscuits in a lightly greased baking sheet and cook for 15 minutes or until golden brown on the top! Serve and enjoy!
