Pizza casserole is a great alternative to the regular spaghetti and a combo with pizza! I mean who doesn't like pizza! You can add whatever toppings into this as well! If you like veggies add veggies on top! Definitely is customizable to each person!
Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups uncooked rotini or other spiral pasta
- 1½ to 2 pounds ground beef or sausage
- 1 medium onion, chopped Salt and black pepper (I substitute onion powder cause my family isn't a fan of onions)
- 1 can (about 15 ounces) pizza sauce
- 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
- 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
- ½ teaspoon sugar
- ½ teaspoon garlic salt
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- 2 cups (8 ounces) shredded mozzarella cheese or 1 package of Provolone
- 12-15 pieces of pepperoni
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. While oven is warming up cook pasta according to the box.
- While pasta is cooking brown your ground beef or cook your sausage and then add the onion to the pan and cook. Drain fat and set off to the side!
- Mix all your sauce ingredients (spices and tomatoe paste, sauce and pizza sauce) together in a big bowl. Add your meat and pasta and mix!
- Put into a casserole pan and add your cheese and pepperoni (and any veggies) to the top of the pan and cook for 10-15 minutes until cheese is well melted
- Remove and enjoy!
