Homemade Gummies

Homemade Gummies

On my journey to making things healthier in my house I noticed my kids loved gummies as one of their snacks! When I looked closer at the ingredient list I noticed that many of the brands i had trusted had many different dyes in them as well as some not so healthy ingredients! So i decided it was time to make my own! I ordered some adorable molds and we hit the floor running! We made apple, orange, strawberry, and blueberry! As we worked through the batches we learned what to do and what not to do! This article may contain links to amazon items! I do earn commission off these purchases since I am an affiliate.

Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cup of juice. This could be juice that is freshly juiced in a juicer which is what I use or you could get juice from the store (still better than the store bought gummies depending on what juice you use)
  • 4 tbsp gelatin I use this beef gelatin
  • 2-4 tbsp of maple syrup or honey if you want to sweeten it up a bit
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract if you want to add it

Instructions:

  • Juice your ingredients if you are not using store bought juice.
  • Add juice to a sauce pan and add the gelatin
  • Let the gelatin sit and bloom until you no longer can see the powder
  • Put it on the store and warm it up just enough til the gelatin is dissolved
  • Fill your molds with the mixture and let them sit in the fridge for a few hours to harden
  • Pop them out of the mold and enjoy!!! These will last you about 2 weeks in the fridge! If you want you can add a bit of lemon juice and they will keep even longer!
