We all love fresh French fries!! The fre msg crisp tastes with out all the extra garbage included!! I decided to try and freeze them and see how they hold up! This is my first time so this is a learning trial! If you live in an area like I do where you are surrounded by farms and fresh produce you know how amazing it is when you can pull out a bag of local produce from your freezer in the winter and enjoy it! So this is how I did my potatoes to have locally grown French fries year round! I’ll be doing more later this year when I have more freezer space lol…: so let’s do this!!!
So to start I soaked the potatoes in water and cleaned them off! The farm I went to almost all their produce was pesticide free!!! Once I soaked and cleaned them I grabbed them and chopped them into the size fries I wanted and threw them in the colander!

Since I has so many potatoes I had to divide them into 2 batches! So once I cut the first batch of potatoes I boiled a pot of water and cooked them for 5 minutes. Once the the timer hit 0 I spooned them into an ice cold bowl of water and let them cool down to stop the cooking process.

Once they were done with their ice bath they went onto a towel to be patted dry and then transferred over to a pan lined with parchment paper!

Let them freeze overnight to make sure they are frozen all the way through! Once they are frozen packaged and vacuum seal them till you are ready to cook them!! When I cook a bag I will come back and update!! A $13 haul of potatoes gave us sides for 7 meals! That’s less than $2 a bag!!
