So besides being sensitive to dairy Tommy has very sensitive skin just like his older brother Ethan. Ethan we were told has eczema. My guess is Tommy is following suit and has it as well but he hasn’t been “diagnosed” yet. We have tried all over the counter diaper rash creams and powders trying to find something that would help protect his butt! Many of the creams and powders ended up making things worse and we would end up with a far worse rash then we started with. One of the only things that really helped was aquaphor which I have used on all of my kids and loved and the steroid that the dr prescribed. I wasn’t a fan of the steroid even though it helped because if I used it too often it would have negative affects on his behind. So I looked and researched and found out about breastmilk lotion!
Not only do I have a decent supply which I’m so thankful for, I can also pump in the morning and get a decent amount to make the lotion for him! Breastmilk is liquid gold! The amount of benefits that come from this glorious liquid are bountiful and so diverse! I decided since I have some in the freezer I’d try a batch out and see how it went! His butt did amazing with it! It kept his butt moisturized and kept a barrier from those explosive diapers all babies have! I decided since there are so many benefits to this Amazing item that I would try it on my face and feet! My face has been so soft and it’s helped speed up the breakout on my face! It’s slowly clearing up after a weeks worth of using it so we shall see how it keeps going! My feet oh my gosh what a difference! They are getting softer and softer! My feet are horrible and cracked and dry and it is working on healing all those problems! I have tried pumice stones, lotions, Vaseline and foot treatments! None of those were long term fixes! The foot treatments worked right after my feet peeled but then they would start drying out and cracking again. The lotions and Vaseline always were temporary and if I missed one day like the pumice stone they would start cracking again. This item is easy to apply and I do it when I get dressed and after my shower! So far I’m loving it and would recommend trying it if you are nursing or breastfeeding! I’ll post the recipe I use below so you can try to make your own if you’d like! I’ll also link some of the items I use to make it! Recipe:
Items you will need: (I will link any items I like to use)
- 3oz of oil. You can use grape seed, Avocado oil, olive oil or coconut oil. I prefer coconut oil!
- 3 oz of room temperature liquid gold aka breastmilk
- 6-8 drops of vitamin e
- 1 tbs of beeswax. I use organic white beeswax
- 10-15 drops of essential oil if desired
- 4oz or 8oz canning jars. I love these 4 oz jars!
Instructions:
- Melt the beeswax and your choice of oil in the double boiler. If you don’t have a double boiler, add 2 cups of water to a small sauce pan and heat to a light simmer on low heat. Place a glass bowl on top of the pot and then add the beeswax and oil to the glass bowl to melt. You can also melt in the microwave if you wish as well. You can microwave at one minute increments. It will usually take about 3 minutes!
- Remove the double boiler or glass bowl from the heat and wait for it to cool down to room temperature.
- Once beeswax and oil are room temp add six drops of vitamin E oil while whisking mixture. I have an immersion blender and love using it for this!
- Slowly pour the breast milk into the mixture while whisking everything together. You can also use an immersion blender again!
- Add your choice of essential oil (if desired at this time and continue to whisk everything well.
- Once all ingredients are mixed well, pour into a glass jar for storing. The lotion will continue to solidify as it cools. Then you get to enjoy it! Super easy super simple and well worth it!!

I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as my family and I have! There are so many different uses for this amazing product!
